CONCEPT: A poetry collection of NFT’s derived London GIFT’s

TL;DR This project would be a GIFT derivative and should create traction for the GIFT collection. The idea is that owners of London GIFT’s would be be able to participate in a unique minting experience where they could derive poetry from the titles of their GIFT’s.

# PIECES IN COLLECTION: up to 8,888 potential poetry pieces, determined by the number of London GIFT holders that mint a poetry piece.

On-Chain(?): The collection could be on-chain, supporting the values of the DAO and MONA. This has many benefits for branding.

NOTE: We can use the same algorithm that was used for the GIFT collection as a point of inspiration for the text element. See Oisín: Wave Function Collapse for poetry**:** https://github.com/mewo2/oisin

Expanded Details:

There are 8,888 London GIFT NFT’s. 30 of those have been uniquely titled by Dave/Ash and the rest were randomly generated names. The algo could use all 8,888 titles.

The idea is to utilize those names and insert them into an algorithm that can generate poetry derived from the titles of London GIFT’s. This could be based on the word’s sentiment or the attitude conveyed, for example.

@David Sun could elaborate on the potential mechanics of such an algorithm.

In a conversation between BitWizard and Dave, Dave expressed the idea of creating some sort of structure for the poetry idea, such as forming uniquely generated “Haiku’s”.

The poetry NFT itself could have a very simple or blank canvas art-style with text overlay—essentially focusing on the poem itself. Or we could explore a more complex background which would enable use to experiment with new mechanics, such as ai art.

The overall concept would need to be worked out with regard to the type of poetry, the complexity of the art, the dev side of things, design details, etc.

**HAIKU’S:

Haiku** (俳句listen): a type of short form poetry originally from Japan

NOTE: The composition of a Haiku would be relatively simple parameters to set for an algorithm.

Haiku example:

**BACKGROUND ART IDEATION:

Concept for Simple Background:** Simplistic backgrounds with a key focus on the poetry itself.

This could vary from from blank-canvas style backgrounds, such as the Terra Nulius project which uses a blank white space with text overlay, to more complex or colorful background art.

NOTE: We could also explore background colors that are derived from the same token the poetry was derived from.

Similar in some respects to @David Sun’s “colored loot” concept, we could draw a unique palette to be used as the background colors as a blank background and/or the bordering colors.

Even using a simple background we could also explore the use of a more dynamic font.

Idea: We could use the Engraver front, described

as “white-paper serif”. This is the font we will be using in our brand-guide and poems in themselves would appear in a style this is on brand with London DAO

Concept for Complex Background: AI generated background art in the style of traditional Japanese art.

NOTE: this idea is not completely necessary given that the poetry is the key focus of the collection and the collection itself would be a gift derivative, what the ideas below are different attempts to further explore Japanese culture in addition to Haiku poems.

**Example of traditional Japanese art style:

Thoughts: I wonder if there’s a way to create an AI that generates traditional Japanese Art style in a similar way that DUSK by GEN.ART was generated.

My thought is that it might be better to have a limited number of backgrounds that could be potentially generated to be used as background art for the Haiku’s.

Here is a more Japanese art-style piece created by the Dusk algorithm: https://opensea.io/assets/0xdc1b41492db3b485914d92a2e2cfa35fd93fc8ca/2000000099

Obviously this is a highly complex ai-driven art idea so there would be many logistics to consider, such as:
